Can't seem to connect after character creation!

Hey all! As the title says, I cannot seem to connect to the game after character creation. It hangs on "Connecting to the Galaxy" and then...nothing. Poof. Game either hangs there for an eternity or crashes.

Any advice?

I had a guildie with this same symptom ...

I turned out that she had downloaded the EiF patch but had extracted the three files into the wrong game directory.

Grab the patch here:

http://www.empireinflames.com/?page_id=318

and make sure the files wind up in the same directory with the game executable (SWGEmu.exe).

Also do not use the SWGEmu launchpad, as it can cause similar problems.

FYI, ended up that Freebird needing to run in Admin Mode.
